Our website serves exclusively to provide information about our practice, our range of treatments and therapeutic options for various conditions. When you visit our website, we only collect the data that your browser transmits to our server. This data is necessary for the website to be displayed to you and for you to navigate it. The legal basis for collecting this data is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
In detail, the following data is collected when you visit our website:
- IP address
- Browser type, language and version
- Operating system
- Access status / HTTP status code
- Date and time of the request, including the time zone
- Content of the request and the website it came from
- Amount of data transferred
This data is deleted once it is no longer required.
Your rights
With regard to the data we hold about you, you have the following rights:

- Right of access
- Right to restriction of processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to object to processing
- Right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)
You can change or withdraw any consent given in the cookie banner at any time via the cookie settings. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
Cookies
In addition to the data above, we also use cookies on our website. These are small text files stored on your computer (in your browser) after you visit our website. If you visit our website again, your browser sends the information stored in the cookie back to our website, which can, for example, make navigation easier because your settings are remembered. Cookies are not viruses and cannot install any malware on your computer. They are short pieces of text exchanged between the web server and the browser. The following types of cookies are used on our website:
Transient cookies (temporary cookies)
These cookies are stored only for the duration of your browser session. They store a session ID that allows different requests from your browser to be assigned to the same session. As soon as you close your browser, these cookies are deleted automatically.
Persistent cookies (cookies with a limited lifetime)
These differ from transient cookies only in that they are not deleted automatically when you close your browser, but after a predefined period. You can delete these cookies at any time in your browser settings.
In general, you can configure your browser so that cookies are not accepted at all or only to a limited extent. If you make use of this option, some functions of our website may not be fully usable.
Cookie details
Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Tag Manager is not itself an analytics tool and does not store cookies. It is a tool that allows other services – in our case Cookiebot and Google Analytics – to be managed and embedded.
When you open our website, Tag Manager is loaded from a Google server. Your IP address is transmitted to Google in the process, because it is technically required in order to deliver the file to your browser. The services embedded through Tag Manager are only executed once you have given your consent in the cookie banner.
The legal basis for loading Tag Manager is our legitimate interest in the technically reliable management of the services we use, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. For more information see Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Consent management with Cookiebot
To obtain and document your consent to non-essential cookies, we use Cookiebot, a service provided by Usercentrics A/S, Havnegade 39, 1058 Copenhagen, Denmark.
When you open our website, the banner script is loaded from a Cookiebot server and a cookie named CookieConsent is set in your browser to store your choice. The following data is processed: your truncated IP address, the date and time of your consent, an anonymous key, information about your browser and device, and the choice you made. Usercentrics stores these consent records for twelve months.
The legal basis is our legal obligation to be able to demonstrate consent, Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 7 (1) GDPR. The CookieConsent cookie is strictly necessary and is set even without your consent; without it we would have to ask you again on every page view. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 on our website, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies that allow your use of our website to be analysed. The information generated in this way is transmitted to a Google server and stored there.
We only use Google Analytics if you have consented to the statistics category in the cookie banner. Without your consent the service is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. The legal basis is therefore your consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25 (1) TDDDG. You can withdraw this consent at any time via the cookie settings.
In Google Analytics 4, your IP address is truncated before any further processing; the full IP address is not stored. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google. Google evaluates the data on our behalf in order to analyse the use of our website for us and to compile reports on website activity.

YouTube videos
On some pages we embed videos hosted on YouTube. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
The videos are embedded in extended privacy mode (youtube-nocookie.com). In addition, they are only loaded once you have consented to the preferences category in the cookie banner. Until you do so, a notice is shown in their place and no connection to YouTube is established.
If you start a video, YouTube receives the information that you have opened the page in question and processes your IP address. If you are signed in to your Google account at the time, YouTube can associate your usage with that account. If you do not want this, please sign out before starting a video.

Online appointment booking via samedi
For online appointment booking we embed a booking window provided by samedi GmbH, Zimmerstraße 79/80, 10117 Berlin, Germany, on our appointment booking page.
The booking window is only loaded once you have given your consent in the cookie banner. When you book an appointment, you enter the data requested by samedi – usually your name, contact details, date of birth and the reason for your visit. This information may constitute health data within the meaning of Art. 9 GDPR. It is processed by samedi on behalf of our practice on servers located in Germany and displayed in our appointment management system.
The legal basis for embedding the booking window is your consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25 (1) TDDDG. The legal basis for processing the information you enter is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR and, where health data is concerned, Art. 9 (2) (h) GDPR in conjunction with Section 22 (1) no. 1 (b) BDSG. A data processing agreement is in place with samedi. You are of course also welcome to make an appointment by telephone on (+49) 89 – 59 26 28.

Contacting us by e-mail and prescription requests
If you write to us by e-mail – for example to info@kardiologie-innenstadt.com or, for prescription requests, to rezept@kardiologie-innenstadt.com – we process the information you provide solely in order to deal with your request. It is not passed on to third parties.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the matter concerns the initiation or provision of your treatment, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. For prescription requests and other matters that reveal information about your health, we additionally base the processing on Art. 9 (2) (h) GDPR in conjunction with Section 22 (1) no. 1 (b) BDSG. Your message is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed and no statutory retention periods apply.
Please note: ordinary e-mail is transmitted unencrypted and can be read by others on its way to us. If you wish to share information about your health, please call us or speak to us at the practice.
Job applications
Applications sent to us at bewerbung@kardiologie-innenstadt.com are processed solely for the purpose of the application procedure. Only those involved in the selection decision have access to them.
The legal basis is Section 26 (1) BDSG in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. If no employment relationship comes about, we delete your documents six months after the procedure has been concluded; this period follows from potential claims under the German General Equal Treatment Act. If you would like us to keep your documents on file for future vacancies, please let us know – we will then store them on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Transfers to third countries
The Google services we use – Tag Manager, Google Analytics and the YouTube embed – are offered by Google Ireland Limited in Ireland. It cannot be ruled out, however, that data is also transferred to Google LLC in the United States and processed there.
Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. These transfers are therefore covered by the adequacy decision of the European Commission of 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR). In addition, Google has entered into the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR).
Despite these safeguards, it cannot be excluded that US authorities may access the data without your having a legal remedy that fully corresponds to the European level of protection. You can prevent the transfer by not giving consent in the cookie banner, or by withdrawing consent already given via the cookie settings.
